LATTA I am one of the LATTA clan that originated in Dumbarton where my family were involved in shipbuilding. There is in fact a Latta Street in Dumbarton which is in memory of a dignitary of the burgh. If you read the book Hatters Castle written by A. J. Cronin, he refers to a Sir John LATTA who is based on the same character. I wonder if we are of the same family as part of the family emigrated to USA in the nineteenth century.
