Latta,
22, at
the
Cathedral
of the
Immaculate
Conception
by
Father
Val
Handwerker
with
Bishop
J.
Terry
Steib,
S.V.D.
presided.
Burial
was in
Memorial
Park
Cemetery.
Latta
was a
graduate
of
Christian
Brothers
University
and the
University
of
Memphis
and had
been
admitted
as a
medical
student
at the
University
of
Tennessee
College
of
Medicine.
He was
employed
at St.
Francis
Hospital
and
served
as a
volunteer
counselor
for
Camp
Good
Grief.
He
served
as
president
of
Alpha
Epsilon
Delta,
the
medical
honor
society.
A
parishioner
at the
Cathedral
of the
Immaculate
Concpetion,
Latta
served
as a
minister
of Holy
Communion.
Survivors
include
his
parents,
Dr.
James
Latta
and
Judge
Jennie
Latta,
both of
Memphis;
two
sisters,
Evelyn
Teresa
Latta
and
Judith
Catherine
Latta,
both of
Memphis;
three
brothers,
Robert
Wherry
Latta,
Kenneth
Spicer
Latta
and
David
Stuart
Latta,
all of
Memphis;
two
grandmothers,
Sandra
Davidson
and
Marilynn
Latta;
and a
step-grandmother,
June
Davidson.
